At the end of a 10 hour day, a young lawyer had an epiphany: she was 31, entering the best decade of her life. And she was spending it chained to a desk. A family tragedy was the last straw -- she quit her corporate job and took two months off to think about what she really wanted to do in life.

Then, a list:

  1. Go back to school for a Ph.D.? (But in what?)
  2. Go back to school to get a degree in library science? (Jobs are scarce)
  3. Go to Pakistan for a few months to research a book and write about being Pakistani-American (but would it sell?)
  4. Open a cat cafe (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Soon, the idea of a cat cafe took root and became an obsession. There were obstacles. Did she have enough capital? Could she get a loan? Was Denver ready for the concept? How did you open a business anyway?

Luckily, nobody laughed too hard at her business plan
